The International Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy’s 25th Annual Congress was held at the end of last month in Croatia. BSGE WebComms Chair, Shaheen Khazali was invited to attend and speak at the meeting, he reported back from the event:
‘The meeting took place in Opatija, a beautiful seaside town in Croatia. Many world authorities and pioneers in gynaecological endoscopic surgery were in attendance, including Harry Reich and BSGE stalwarts Ray Garry and Chris Sutton.
ISGE President Professor Bruno van Herendael and his team put on an exciting scientific programme over the three days, covering most of the current topics in gyneacological endoscopic surgery. There were, as ever, some very interesting debates on the usual controversies which kept us all entertained and educated.
Between sessions and in the breaks the conversations continued on the balcony, where delegates could enjoy the views. It reminded me of the lively debates on the terrace overlooking the stunning coastal scenery at the Bedruthan Steps, during our own ASM in Cornwall…just a few degrees warmer!’
