Call for Submissions: RIGS Video Presentation Session

Showcase your surgical skills at the BSGE ASM26 in London!

We are inviting trainees of all levels to submit video abstracts for the RIGS Video Presentation Session at the BSGE Annual Scientific Meeting 2026. This session offers an exciting opportunity to present your surgical work on a national platform, gain recognition, and compete for the Best RIGS Video Presentation Award.

What We’re Looking For

We’ll be selecting the five best video abstracts that demonstrate:

  • An interesting surgical case
  • A useful technique
  • Or excellent execution of a procedure appropriate to the trainee’s level

Preference will be given to videos with broad educational relevance to RIGS delegates rather than those focusing on highly advanced laparoscopic procedures.

Presentation Format

  • Selected video should be 5 minutes, followed by 2 minutes for questions and discussion.
  • Presenters must be the primary operating surgeon and able to present in person.
  • Presenters must be registered delegates at BSGE ASM26.
  • A conflict of interest declaration is required.

Submission Guidelines

  • Submit your abstract using the application link below and follow the on-screen instructions.
  • Your final edited video must be uploaded at the time of submission — the version submitted by the deadline will be considered final for review.
  • Video files must be no larger than 500MB and no more than 5 minutes in duration.
  • Title your file as: ‘Presentation Title – Author Surname’.
  • All videos must be fully anonymised. Any patient-identifiable information must be removed. Presenters must confirm that appropriate patient consent has been obtained where required.

You will receive an email confirming receipt of your submission.

If you do not receive confirmation within 5 working days, please contact bsge@rcog.org.uk

Please ensure your email address is correct, as all correspondence will be sent via email.
