Objective
- To become familiar with diagnostic and operative hysteroscopy,
- To gain knowledge of best practice in hysteroscopy,
- To understand how to use and set up different operative equipment.
Description
The workshop will combine lectures, case study discussion and practical stations. The lectures will include pathology type and choice of equipment, troubleshooting with stack, light source and scopes and use of tissue removal systems. There will be rotational practical stations with hands-on removal of intrauterine pathology using simple forceps, morcellation and using electrosurgery.
The practical sessions will use both models and simulators. The stations will include improving camera skills and hand- eye co-ordination in:
- Operative hysteroscopy
- Tissue removal devices
- Resectoscope
- Endometrial ablation
Who should attend?
- Trainees who have registered or plan to register for the benign gynaecology surgery: hysteroscopy or benign abdominal surgery: open and laparoscopic.
- Consultants with interest in hysteroscopy.
- GP’s who have an interest in hysteroscopy or develop their skills.
