The BSGE exists to improve standards, promote training and encourage the exchange of information in minimal access surgery techniques. Joining us will enable you to access information, education and training as well as sharing knowledge and experiences with over two thousand members who are all passionate about minimally invasive surgery in gynaecology.
The following are eligible to be members of the BSGE:
- Consultants and Associate Specialists (SAS doctors) on the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council in the fields of Gynaecology, or other specialists relating to the objectives of the Society;
- General Practitioners with a special interest in gynaecological endoscopy;
- Medical Practitioners in training and specialty doctors (staff grade doctors) in the above specialties;
- Paramedical Practitioners to include nurses, SCPs, ODPs and theatre personnel with a special interest in gynaecological endoscopy and endometriosis;
- Physician Associates (Assistants) and Allied Health Professionals with a special interest in gynaecological endoscopy and endometriosis with registration with a professional body or council such as Health and Care Professions Council;
- Students of medicine, nursing or other allied health specialties, with evidence of their student placement.

Standard
setting
The Society was involved, at the request of the RCOG, with setting general standards for hysteroscopic and laparoscopic procedures. Best Practice documents are being developed and are available for the benefit of Members and Patients alike.
Educational courses &
financial support
We run and promote courses in minimally invasive techniques and share information about educational opportunities for members. Awards and Bursaries are available to help fund further study or obtain travelling fellowships.
Access to
information
UK and Ireland members get free corporate membership of the ESGE which include discounted rates for their congress and access to their journal. All members can access recordings of BSGE webinars on demand in the BSGE Video Library.
