The second pilot of National Hysterectomy Programme (LapHyst) is now open for applications. This pilot programme will be run in partnership with Olympus.
Modules two and three of this pilot will take place in the Netherlands over three consecutive days on 13th to 15th June. Please make arrangements for study leave accordingly.

Further pilots will be announced soon in partnership with other companies.

Consultants who are BSGE members are eligible to apply and should have a letter of support from their clinical director and medical director; this requirement should help to ensure that the consultant has the support of his/her Trust and that care and effort is likely to be given to the training of theatre staff without whose active assistance, the development of the service is liable to be made more difficult. It is expected that applicants will have appropriate laparoscopic skills prior to entry to the course and will already be familiar with both abdominal and vaginal hysterectomy.

Application can be emailed to the BSGE Secretariat at bsge@rcog.org.uk or sent by post to BSGE, 27 Sussex Place, London, NW1 4RG.

Application should include a two page CV (longer CV’s will not be assessed), the application form and a statement (maximum 400 words) of why the applicant would be suitable for the programme.

Further information can be found here.

The closing date for applications will be 15 April 2016.
