The Diagnostics portfolio was a new addition to the BSGE in 2024 and is now looking to build its sub-committee with colleagues from the wider imaging community.
The main objectives of the portfolio are to:
- develop resources for training in non-invasive diagnosis of gynaecological conditions.
- improve awareness of the diagnostic yield of ultrasound and MRI.
- Educate on how diagnostic tools can facilitate earlier diagnosis, triaging to appropriate services and treatment planning, streamlining patient pathways and optimising patient care.
We are inviting applications from radiologists and sonographers to join the BSGE Diagnostics Portfolio sub-committee. Applicants should have an interest in gynaecological imaging and will have the opportunity to innovate within this relatively novel portfolio. Areas we are keen to explore include:
- Educational events
- Training and engagement of members and allied health professions
- Augmenting the diagnostics stream at the annual scientific meeting
- Developing resources for the BSGE communication platforms
- Supporting the BSGE accredited endometriosis centres ultrasound leads.
Applications to join the BSGE Diagnostics Portfolio sub-committee should be made before Friday 7th August 2026.
To apply as a candidate for the subcommittee, the following criteria are required:
- To be a current BSGE member
- To send a motivational letter and short CV
Applications should be made to BSGE@rcog.org.uk All applications will be reviewed and appointment offered by the portfolio chair and BSGE Officers.
Appointments will be made for a maximum of 3 years. After a maximum of 3 years, a reapplication can be made by a sub-committee member. There is no limit to the number of times an applicant may apply. As this is a significant undertaking, we are keen to include colleagues with a range of expertise and perspectives to help shape its direction and success.
To apply, candidates must be members of the BSGE and are asked to submit a short CV along with a covering letter outlining their interest and how they feel they could contribute to this portfolio.
Appointments will be for a maximum term of three years, after which members may reapply. There is no limit to the number of times a member may apply.
