Objectives
The aim of the workshop is to enable delegates to develop their hysteroscopy skills, both diagnostic and operative and to become familiar with operative hysteroscopic equipment.
Overview
The workshop will be in two parts either finishing or starting with rotation around a series of five stations each of 40 minutes duration using models and computer-simulated procedures. The topics to be covered are diagnostic hysteroscopy for developing camera skills and hand-eye co-ordination; endometrial polypectomy using mechanical instruments with fine scissors, graspers and hysteroscopic tissue shavers; global endometrial ablation using nonhysteroscopic devices and a station for viewing examples and case studies.
The other part of the workshop will consist of a review of case studies and endometrial/fibroid resection skills and will take place either before or after the station session, depending upon whether the start time for the day is 8.00 am or 10.00 am. Those who start at the earlier time will finish at 3.30 pm, those who start later will finish at 5.30pm.
