The BSGE has launched the Ambulatory Care Network (ACN) Meeting for 2020. It will run from 27-28 February 2020 at the Hyatt Regency, Birmingham and looks to build on the success of the inaugural meeting in 2019.

BSGE Vice President Justin Clark announced the meeting saying:

It is with great pleasure that we can invite BSGE members and indeed all practitioners interested in ambulatory gynaecology to our second meeting dedicated to managing women’s health conditions in an outpatient setting.

‘As before, this meeting is designed to be highly interactive with short presentations introducing key themes and controversies in specific sessions. The idea is to allow time for wider discussion so we can share our thoughts, protocols and experiences. The meeting is supported by industry and so there will be the opportunity to learn about some of the latest technologies.’

The feedback from the inaugural ACN meeting was fantastic. Members can download minutes including outputs from the last meeting here. Delegate comments included:

‘I have left much more knowledgeable regarding outpatient hysteroscopy and has been a great opportunity to network with other experts and colleagues and benchmark practice.’

‘Excellent meeting, especially for the nurses, who felt included. Timings of the meeting were excellent. It was the best meeting/ conference I’ve been to in ages. I would happily have paid to go, if funding wasn’t available!’

In contrast to last year, the 2020 programme will be driven by those attending. The organisers asked anyone attending to please email Atia Khan at bsge@rcog.org.uk with any ideas, whether they’re fully formed or just ‘back of the envelope’ stuff. The team will then collate the responses into themes and allocate the appropriate amount of time to covering them.

The meeting will be held over 2 days starting on Thursday lunchtime (12.00 pm lunch, meeting to start at 1 pm) and close on Friday lunchtime. This should allow time for travel to and from Birmingham, so that delegates can enjoy their weekend in full.

BSGE has secured 99 rooms at the hotel for delegate accommodation.  Early booking is recommended for those wishing to take advantage of the accommodation as places are limited.Refreshments will be provided throughout and there is an inclusive evening meal where there will be the opportunity to network with colleagues with similar interests and with our industry supporters.

Justin Clark encouraged BSGE members and interested professionals with active membership of alternative professional bodies such asRCOG, RCGP or the RCN to get involved with the Ambulatory Care Network saying:

‘Please consider attending this new meeting and making it an ongoing success in this increasingly important area of health service delivery.’
