If you haven’t submitted your abstract for The BSGE Virtual ASM 2021 don’t panic. Justin Clark, BSGE President has announced that the deadline has been pushed back to January 15th, 2021. Announcing the extension Justin said:

We have received many abstracts for our upcoming virtual ASM and thank you to everyone who has submitted their work so far. Our virtual platform offers us the opportunity to showcase more high quality and interesting posters and presentations than usual and so we have decided to extend the submission deadline by 1 week. I also know that your time and work patterns may have been affected by the pandemic and so the scientific organising committee want to provide more flexibility to allow you to get submissions in.’

This year’s theme is “Embracing Change, Maintaining Excellence”. BSGE members can submit entries for oral, video, and e-poster presentations. The contributions can comprise of original scientific work, surgical techniques, audit, service developments, and innovations of any sort. To submit an abstract first register in the submission system including the following information:

  • Primary author’s name, position, organisation, full contact address, telephone and email address. This information will be used for all further communications.
  • Names and organisations of co-authors.

Justin added:

‘Whether submitting work for consideration or not, please remember to book your study / professional leave now if you haven’t done so already so you can enjoy the conference without distractions. You deserve some time away from the coal face and time to enjoy an interactive, educational experience.

‘I do hope you managed to get some time off over the festive period and that despite the challenges imposed by the pandemic and the weather, I hope 2021 is treating you well.

I look forward to connecting with as many of you as possible at the March virtual ASM’
