Course directors: Miss Nahid Gul & Gareth Rhind

This one-day course is aimed at gynaecology surgical trainees and consultants who wish to improve robotic surgery skills. The generic skills covered in this course will be useful for a wide range of gynaecological procedures. Delegates will benefit most from multidisciplinary discussion and tips to consolidate their robotic skills when they return to their own clinical setting.

Hands training. focusing on:

• Experience in robotic multiple arm platform setup and console use.
• Principles for dissection of ureterolysis, hysterectomy, Nodal dissection and Colposuspension

Procedural training on manikins:

• Adnexectomy,
• Colpotomy
• Myomectomy
• Colposuspension
• Hysterectomy
• Practice use of electrosurgery and robotic suturing

Delegates work in groups, rotating through the roles of console surgeon , bedside assistance, simulation and observer. You will have opportunity to use surgical console and learn use of instruments for safe dissection and suturing. Simulation and VT experience is second to none.
