This intensive practical simulation course is arranged jointly by BSGE RIGS.
Description
The aim of this course is to cover key operative laparoscopic competencies within the RCOG core and Gynaecological Surgical Care SITM curriculums. These include laparoscopic salpingectomy, ovarian cystectomy and oophorectomy, treatment of superficial endometriosis, laparoscopic myomectomy and TLH and surgical management of tubo-ovarian abscess.
The course is aimed at ST5 -7 trainees and those with equivalent surgical experience. The day will include a re-cap of pelvic anatomy and electrosurgery fundamentals and techniques and will offer ample hands-on experience throughout the day on advanced industry models to practice all the key laparoscopic procedures and laparoscopic suturing.

13:20-13:40 Presentation – Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy

14:00-16:00 Practical – Laparoscopic myomectomy + TLH + Laparoscopic suturing including intracorporeal / extracorporeal knot tying with refreshment break as needed by delegates
