Leeds, one of the largest cities in the UK and the largest city in Yorkshire, will proudly be hosting The BSGE Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) in 2025. Come prepared to spend a week with us in Leeds, one of Britain’s major cultural cities, from the 30th of April to the 2nd of May. We will kick-start the week with pre-congress workshops followed by the ASM.

By hosting ASM in Leeds, the BSGE can experience our cultural dynamism, diversity, heritage and pride. Getting stuck into the thriving independent food scene and breathing the fresh air of the Yorkshire Dales. All within one of the UK’s most accessible cities, equidistant between London and Edinburgh, served by road, rail and air. Compact, walkable and everything within easy reach.

You can remember your stay in Leeds in more ways than ASM 2025, for example, it is home to Leeds United and Leeds Rhinos, it is the founding of musical stars such as Kiser Chiefs and Mel B and finally for its innovation like the invention of fizzy drinks, astronaut food and flagship M&S.

When you come to ASM Leeds, you will be immersed within the largest Armouries in the UK; The Royal Armouries Museum which brings us to our conference’s theme of ‘Bringing New Skills to Your Armoury’. At its heart lies a tower lined with 300 years’ worth of various arms as well as the biggest animal armour in the world. You will enjoy drinks reception in the Asian and African gallery surrounded by exhibitions of vast collection of weapons. In keeping with the theme, there will be a medieval village full of industry exhibitions including a unique experience of the Knight Interpretation.

We have prepared a varied and impactful program to empower tomorrow’s gynaecological surgeons by enhancing UK leadership in endoscopic surgery and research, fostering multidisciplinary collaborative work – including pain management, thoracic endometriosis and fertility preservation and applying state of the art technology – robotics, surgical innovation, technology, simulation training.

We will collaborate with industry to introduce technical advances and new products putting emphasis on greener sustainable surgery and regeneration of surgical resources. Bringing BSGE to the city of Leeds will bring new skills to your armoury through learning, sharing experiences and socialising. We are looking forward to meeting new and familiar faces at the BSGE & RIGS dinner where we can unwind and reconnect.

In the beating heart of Leeds, occupying a landmark location in the City Square, you will be staying in an art deco space, which was once enjoyed by Grace Kelly, Cary Grant and Nelson Mandela at The Queens Hotel. This is not only your accommodation base but also where we will be hosting our exciting Great Gatsby themed Gala dinner. The Queens Hotel is newly refurbished and offers an exceptional and elegant space to dine and entertain.

For those wishing for alternative accommodation, there are plenty of other options within walking distance also available.

As the local organising committee, we are looking forward to welcoming you to the heart of Yorkshire here in Leeds and for you to experience BSGE ASM 2025 in this beautiful city we call home.
